How a love for cats and coffee created Portland's coziest café experience.

Born From a Simple Dream

Urban Cat Café started when our founder, Maya Chen, noticed two things she loved most were rarely found together: exceptional coffee and the therapeutic joy of being around cats.

After volunteering at local shelters for years, Maya realized that a café setting could be the perfect environment for rescue cats to meet potential adopters — in a relaxed, no-pressure atmosphere.

Today, we're proud to have helped over 150 cats find loving forever homes while serving some of Portland's best coffee.
